Old School Hack game seriousness
  • This is just a question out to the GMs that have ran games using OSH. I have ran two on going games ran the gamut from ridiculous to the level of a Syfy movie dramedy. I am toying with that setting idea I posted over on my blog and I am curious as to how serious other people's games have been. Has anyone ran a deadly serious, dark and gritty game using OSH? Or do the Awesome Point economy lend itself more to the hilarious spectrum of gaming?
  • I have run one, and it was one of the best roleplaying experiences I ever had. It was important to convey the intended tone at the beginning of the game, and have the players invested in that kind of experience. Awesome Points tended to get awarded for being bastards, or for gritty or gruesome description.
  • Change the name of Awesome Points when you present the game... Fate Points? Action Points?
